Many of Governor Snyder’s proposals were suggested by citizens like you in community meetings held all across the state by the Center for Michigan. Through theMichigan’s Defining Moment public engagement campaign – the largest in Michigan’s history – The Center for Michigan gathered the views of 10,000 Michigan citizens into a Common Ground Agenda for Michigan’s future.
Just like we did during the 2010 campaign, MiVote.org, Detroit Public Television and the Center for Michigan are teaming up to help Michigan citizens like you have access to politicians and public officials in ways that have not been available before. MiVote.org will be using the results of these conversations online and as part of an ongoing series of broadcasts on Detroit Public Television.
Now that proposals are on the table in Lansing, the real work has begun. Michigan is facing some hard choices. Weigh in! The legislature has until October 1 to pass a budget. Your collective voices have already helped change the discussion in Lansing to focus on Michigan’s transformation. What you tell us will matter for us all.
