With the November Elections around the corner, Detroit Public Television (DPTV) will carry the first of two live web streams with U.S. Senate Candidates Gary Peters (D-MI 14) on Friday, August 22 at 9:00 a.m. and with Republican Candidate Terri Lynn Land on Friday, October 3 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Both interviews will be held at WDET 101.9 FM and facilitated by Rick Pluta, Managing Editor and Capitol Bureau Chief of the Michigan Public Radio Network, who will also be taking phone questions. The broadcast is being simulcast statewide on public radio stations.

Peters is currently the U.S. Representative for Michigan’s 14th congressional district, serving in Congress since 2009. The district includes the eastern half of Detroit, as well as the Grosse Pointes, Hamtramck, Southfield and Pontiac. Land served as Michigan’s 41st Secretary of State. In 2012, she was elected to the Republican National Committee. She is the Republican nominee for the 2014 U.S. Senate race in Michigan.
